Lions at Work
Since its inception in 1917, Lions Club International has been dedicated helping those less fortunate in their communities and around the world. Cross cutting all national, racial and cultural boundaries, activities have included:
· Sight conservation and work with the visually impaired
· Hearing conservation and work with the hearing impaired
· Citizenship, educational, health and social services
· Youth programs including drug education and prevention, community outreach and volunteer programs
· Diabetes detection and research
· Eye research for preventable blindness
· Work for international cooperation and understanding, including youth exchange programs and the Lions International Peace Poster Contest.
The following are some of the activities of the Lions clubs in District 33-A for 2002 - 2003. It is not a complete list, but a list as submitted by the various clubs.
